ALPOLIC/fr is a fire-safe material, passing mandatory requirements for exterior and interior in most countries. Though the core material does contain a small amount of combustible polyethylene, the main ingredient of the mineral does not permit the proliferation of flame and restricts the development of the smoke detrimental to the evacuation activities.
ALPOLIC/fr and its affiliated products pass the following fire tests:
ALPOLIC/fr TCM & ALPOLIC/fr SCM
Note: In UK and USA standard, TCM and SCM pass only basic tests for general purpose as shown above, but TCM and SCM are virtually deemed as eligible materials and actually approved in various countries on the basis of fire performance of ALPOLIC/fr. In Japan, TCM and SCM have an approval as non-combustible material for external cladding, roof and interior.
Rigidity & Flatness
ALPOLIC and its affiliated products are very rigid compared to solid metal sheets.
ALPOLIC and its affiliated products are very flat, compared to solid metal sheets. Solid aluminum sheet, for example, has a slight distortion stemming from its rolling process: buckles, edge waves and overall warping are common. ALPOLIC’s flatness stems from the laminating process in production in which most of such distortions are eliminated.
ALPOLIC/fr have a coating finish with fluorocarbon paint. The gloss is adjustable in wide range, between 15% and 80%. With its 40+ years of experience, ALPOLIC paint coating is recognized as the most durable and reliable paint coating system in the external cladding field.
Polyester coating ALPOLIC/fr LT
The polyester coating for ALPOLIC/fr LT is available in four-color type: Solid Colors, Metallic Colors, Stone and Timber. The gloss is available in matte to 90% gloss.

As ALPOLIC/fr and its affiliated products are composite materials that is composed of metal skins and the core material, their weights are lower than solid metal sheets of the same rigidity.

Typical building materials
The cleaning method suitable for each material depends on the surface finish. The products finished with coatings require some cleaning methods suitable for the coatings, and metal composite materials like TCM, SCM and ZCM require a cleaning method for each surface metal. The cleaning method is detailed in the technical manual of each material. The typical cleaning methods are as follows.
ALPOLIC/fr, ALPOLIC/fr LT
The topside of these materials is a coating with paint materials. Therefore, the cleaner shall suit to these coatings.
Firstly, try water rinse using soft sponge with modest pressure to remove the stain. If the stain remains after dry, then use neutral detergents or household cleaners diluted with water. Typical cleaning procedures are as follows.
According to our test, alkali cleaners such as Sharpshooter and Windex are applicable to strong stain, however some coatings of ALPOLIC® requires good rinsing with water afterward. It is because no water rinsing may cause a color change in the future due to remaining alkali on the coating.
If you use other strong cleaners or stain removers, pre-test in a small area. Do not use strong organic solvents, such as MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone), MIBK (Methyl Iso Butyl Ketone), Triclene and paint thinner. Do not use strong alkali, strong acid or abrasive cleaners. Use of these solvents and cleaners may result in the paint becoming swollen or removed.
To prevent scratching the coated surface, make sure that cleaning sponges and rags are grit-free. Avoid over cleaning or excessive rubbing.
TCM, SCM, ZCM
TCM and SCM show an excellent corrosion resistance, protected by an inactive layer. But stain, caused with various factors, must be removed with suitable cleaners. Refer to technical manual of each material. In ZCM, the initial chemical conversion layer is gradually replaced with natural zinc carbonate layer that shows good weathering. Therefore, we do not need special cleaning, but the chemical substance, adhering and accumulating on the surface, must be removed with water rinse. Refer to technical manual of ZCM.
